1. Explain the meanings of these words without using them in your sentences.

For example, optimistic – a person who always thinks good things will happen.

absent-minded- A person who shows lack of attention towards his surroundings. 

sociable- A person who is always open to new friendly relationships.

modest- Someone who does not like being praised.

stubborn- Someone who is sure of his opinion and is not willing to change it, despite being told to.

emotional-  A person who can get excited and/or depressed easily.

generous- Someone who is open for helping others, especially in a financial way.

tight-fisted- A person who hardly ever spends money by his wish.

selfish- Someone who puts himself or his opportunities before everything else.

1. Imagine as if you were a philosopher, and make up your own sayings by continuing the following beginnings:
